Oactiv: Safer water and more resilient soils

Faced with the challenges of water and soil, Oactiv is developing a local approach that valorizes agricultural and forestry residues from small and medium-sized farms, often neglected by large industrial sectors.
Our approach combines science, circularity and innovation around a mobile and autothermal furnace capable of producing both activated carbon and biochar.
The Oactiv project is based on 4 pillars:

Environmental
At Oactiv, we harness untapped local resources (wood, fruit pits, agricultural residues) to purify tap water and contribute to soil improvement. Thanks to our mobile autothermal furnace, we produce microporous activated carbon and low-carbon biochar on-site: less transport, less energy, more purpose. This approach reduces plastic waste, protects ecosystems, and supports a circular, local economy based on the valorization of local resources. We prove that production can be useful, local, and environmentally friendly.

Economic
We believe that a sustainable economy must create value as close as possible to local communities. Oactiv valorizes local biomass, often overlooked by large industrial sectors, and transforms it into high value-added materials.
Our approach opens up new opportunities for small forestry and agricultural operations, encourages local production rooted in Europe and explores more decentralized, cooperative and resilient economic models.

Social
A sustainable project must also be human and collective. Our approach relies on local collaborations with committed stakeholders in the forestry, agricultural, scientific, and social sectors to create value at the heart of local communities. We are working to establish strong and lasting partnerships with organizations that share our values of inclusion, cooperation, and respect for the environment. These collaborations allow Oactiv to support local employment, promote regional expertise, and strengthen the link between production, ecology, and solidarity.

Innovation
Oactiv27 develops an innovative, energy-efficient, self-heating pyrolysis mobile oven.
Our technology transforms local biomass residues from small forestry and agricultural operations into two high value-added materials.
Biochar helps improve soil structure. Activated carbon, which is highly adsorbent, aims to capture polluting micro-residues present in tap water, including certain PFAS and pesticides.
A local innovation serving water, soil and biomass.
